Program Selection Help

Attention: We do not guarantee fuel gains with any of our calibrations and we DO NOT refund money for not gaining fuel economy with our calibrations. On all Early 99-2003 7.3l diesel's you will need to adjustment for large tires by reprogramming the ABS computer. For 1994.5-1997 7.3l Diesel's recalibration of the speedometer is done through the tripometer. DP-Tuner calibrations are set up for stock tire size ONLY. 

Information regarding the HP rating's of our programs-

Horsepower rating's are general estimates of what you should be near in HP if you dyno'd your truck. This is to give a stating point of hp calcualtion. For expample: if you use a tow tune to dyno you should be near what HP rating is given to that tune. This rating is determined by the addition of all the fueling tables for that tune. Each truck will dyno differntly and may not see the exact same HP rating on a dyno. We label our tunes with estimated HP rating's to help you decided which tune to go with. Each tune is used for certian purpose and is labeled with Tow, Daily or Performance also to separate tunes you need for towing and tunes you would use for other situations. This explains what various settings and terminologies mean when choosing your custom-programmed device, like the F5 or F6.

  • Stock- this program is at no charge to you. It is a “stock” calibration. There will be no additional horsepower with this tune. Most use it for when they let some one borrow their truck and sudden inclement weather.
  • Modified Stock- for those who modify the injectors or add Big Oil need this to prevent stalling when switching from higher horsepower levels back to stock. p-codes 1211,1249,0478 will be adjusted to not trip the SES light under normal driving conditions.
  • No-Start- this program is no charge to you. It is used for a theft deterrent. It is advised that this program be placed in Position 0.
  • Hi-Idle- this program is very versatile. It can be used for faster warm ups in Winter, keeping the AC colder on hot days, running equipment such as a winch or welder. It also keeps the Cylinders from washing down. This is commonly known as “Wet Stacking”. There are choices of 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, 1500, 1600, 1800.
  • Decel tune- this is used instead of an expensive exhaust brake. It performs the same function by using the EBPV to slow the trucks down. Special transmission strategies are used for auto transmissions also. Not for accelerating.
  • Valet Speed limiter- this is used for setting a speed limiter for when friend’s family or employees borrow your truck who is not familiar with the performance of your truck.
  • 20 hp tow codes- for towing weight capacity exceeding 15k lbs. or more. Shift points are raised and spread apart so the engine does not lug under load. p-codes 1211,1249,0478 will be adjusted to not trip the SES light under normal driving conditions.
  • 40hp tow codes- for towing weight capacity between 13 and 15k lbs. Shift points are raised and spread apart so the engine does not lug under load p-codes 1211,1249,0478 will be adjusted to not trip the SES light under normal driving conditions.
  • 60 hp tow codes- for towing weight capacity between 9 to 13k lbs. Shift points are raised and spread apart so the engine does not lug under load  p-codes 1211,1249,0478 will be adjusted to not trip the SES light under normal driving conditions.
  • 80 hp tow codes- for towing weight capacity between 5 and 8k lbs. Shift points are raised and spread apart so the engine does not lug under load. p-codes 1211,1249,0478 will be adjusted to not trip the SES light under normal driving conditions.
  • 60hp Daily codes- used for daily Highway diving. May use for towing loads on flats between 5-8K. The shift strategies, fueling and other aspects of the tuning is different from the tow tunes.
  • 80hp Daily codes- used for Daily mixed and city driving. May use for towing loads on flats 5-8K. The shift strategies, fueling and other aspects of the tuning is different from the tow tunes. p-codes 1211,1249,0478 will be adjusted to not trip the SES light under normal driving conditions.
  • 60 and 80 hp "Mountains" Econo- The same as the regular econo tunes with higher shift points for driving in altitude over 5000 ft. Shift points are designed like the tow tunes so the engine does not lug throughout the switch back driving situations.
  • 100 hp Performance codes- Recommended with stock injectors as a performance tune. For the 1994-1997 trucks with no modifications to the injectors, the hp gains will be maxed out at 100 hp. p-codes 1211,1249,0478 will be adjusted to not trip the SES light under normal driving conditions. Do not use for towing.
  • 120 hp Race codes- recommended for a stock Super Duty as the highest hp level with stock injectors. To utilize the full potential of the tune it is recommended to make some modification to the Exhaust, intake, and fuel system. Can be used with OBS trucks with some exhaust modifications but it is highly recommended to use after modifying the injectors, fuel system and adding an intercooler to see the full potential of program safely. p-codes 1211,1249,0478 will be adjusted to not trip the SES light under normal driving conditions. Do not use for towing.
  • 140hp Aggressive codes- this is a play program with very aggressive fueling down low in the rpm range. Recommended for short term usage. p-codes 1211,1249,0478 will be adjusted to not trip the SES light under normal driving conditions. Do not use for towing.
  • 140 Extreme Codes- this program is for max performance when specific modifications have been done to utilize the full potenial of the tune. A built trans, regulated return fuel system, aftermarket intercooler, bigger injectors are recommened when using this program. p-codes 1211,1249,0478 will be adjusted to not trip the SES light under normal driving conditions. Do not use for towing.
  • Lope idle- makes the truck sound like it has a big block cam. Only used for playing around. Prolonged usage can wash down the cylinder walls. Not reccomended for long term use or driving in.
  • Drive- thru tune- Quiets the idle down so you don’t have to turn the truck off when you pull up to drive ups. Driving thru camp grounds, or chatting with the person next to you with out having to shout. Low speed driving up to 10mph is allowed.
  • Low fuel-very low smoke for modified injectors.
  • Custom, Dyno, Pulling and Race tunes- for these tunes you must call Jody directly to discuss.
