    PLEASE NOTE: The Bosch OE fuel pumps that we use to build this kit are at times hard to source. We have added an option to purchase this kit WITHOUT THE FUEL PUMP for customers that already have a pump they can use. The fuel pump mounting hardware for the OE pump will still be included.

    This Driven Diesel OBS Electric Fuel System Conversion kit for the 94-97 "OBS" 7.3L Powerstroke trucks is truly a COMPLETE fuel system solution. This package includes our proven OBS Regulated Return Kit along with the necessary electric fuel pump, fuel filters, hose, fittings and all necessary hardware...for a total "tank to engine" electric fuel system package. Fuel delivery is handled by the nearly bulletproof OEM Bosch fuel pump from the 99-03 Super Duty trucks, providing you with stellar reliability and enough fuel to supply up to about a 160cc injector (350-375hp). The result is a much more consistent fuel flow/pressure delivered to the injectors, a primed fuel system BEFORE starting the engine, support for moderately upgraded power levels as well as filters that are easier to service and less expensive to replace! This fuel system package features:

    IMPORTANT NOTES:

    1. This kit is ELIMINATES the fuel tank selector valve from the fuel path (both supply and return fuel)...you will need to choose which tank the truck will be running from (front, rear, in-bed, race fuel cell, etc). We HIGHLY RECOMMEND operating from the FRONT tank if possible, as it offers adequate clearnace above the tank for the 5/8" pickup, and has a smoother bottom surface for the sump to seal against. If you will be using the rear tank (whether stock or aftermarket), some modifications to this kit or the fuel tank may be required to cleanly plumb the necessary 5/8" connections to supply the fuel pump. In any case, the fuel supply and fuel return lines will both need to bypass the selector valve and be permanently connected to the same tank. If you still need the capacity of both tanks (for driving range reasons), you will need to devise a method of transferring fuel from the secondary tank to the tank the truck is running from (balance tube, transfer pump, etc). We do not currently offer the parts to complete the connection of a second tank.

    2. While we have done everything we can to make this the most compact fuel pump and filter mount on the market at only 13" wide, there are a few applications where the mount will not fit inside the frame. Before ordering, please check your truck for clearance between the front of the fuel tank and the rear of the transfer case (4x4) for the necessary 13"-15" of installation space. If your truck doesn't have enough space inside the frame, this kit CAN be used outside the frame. You will need to disconnect the parking brake cable and route it through our pump mount bracket (we suggest covering it with a piece of split rubber hose as well), and shorten the pump mount bolts that protrude through the rear of the bracket. There should be plenty of extra hose in the kit to cleanly route the fuel lines to this location as well.

    3. The stock fuel filter bowl and mechanical fuel pump MUST be removed and a regulated return fuel system installed in their place to use this kit. This Driven Diesel OBS Race Fuel Delivery kit was specifically designed to supply fuel to our OBS "Fuel Bowl Delete" Regulated Return Kit (NOT INCLUDED...see Related Products section below), but it will work equally well with other regulated return fuel systems.

    4. DO NOT use our mini ball valves on the #10 (5/8") side of this system. The internal passage of those valves is too small for the inlet side of the Fuelab pump! You CAN use a ball valve on the outlet of the post-pump fuel filter if desired.

    5. Due to the differences we have seen in the condition of body mounts on OBS trucks (distance from frame to body), our pump bracket may contact the underside of the vehicle floor. On the few trucks we have found clearance issues on, the contact was very minor and the easiest solution was to carefully push the floor up about 1/4" in the affected area.

    This Driven Diesel RACE Fuel Delivery Kit for the 94-97 "OBS" 7.3L Powerstrokes is built to support whatever horsepower you are trying to reach, while still maintaining "Near OE" reliability. We have accomplished this by using two of the Bosch OE fuel pumps from a 7.3L Super Duty. These pumps were specifically designed to pump diesel fuel and have proven time and again that they are capable of running in excess of 100,000 miles without fail. By running two of these pumps in a "side by side" parallel configuration, we have doubled the volume of fuel we are capable of delivering to the engine, allowing us to support large injector upgrades without sacrificing reliability. Dual pumps also provides a level of redundancy for "high performance" trucks that are also asked to do regular duty as the family tow rig or daily driver.     ** WIRING NOTE : We provide this kit with a single wiring harness, and instructions that will run BOTH fuel pumps 100% of the time. This is NOT the only way to do it, running dual pumps provides a flexibility that you don't get with a single pump setup, you simply need to purchase a second fuel pump harness (see "Related Products" below) to open up the possibilities. With two separate harnesses, you could have complete, independent control of your fuel pumps from inside the cab. With a pair of toggle switches (not included), you could run the truck on a single fuel pump under "normal driving" conditions, easily alternate back and forth between the pumps so you are not always running the same one, and easily enable the second pump only when you are needing the extra volume.

    This kit was designed to mount INSIDE the frame rail, forward of the stock fuel tank. The fully assembled pump bracket requires about 13-15" of straight frame space to allow for the inlet and outlet hoses to route cleanly. If you have a short wheelbase truck or you have other equipment already mounted in the area forward of the fuel tank, you may want to measure and verify that you have room before ordering. Also, this bracket can be mounted on the outside of the frame rail if needed, but care will need to be taken with regard to the parking brake cable and fuel line routing. All of the pictures in the instructions show a system plumbed for INSIDE the frame mounting.

     

    IMPORTANT NOTE : This kit was designed to work with our "Fuel Bowl Delete" Regulated Return Kits. As such, it does NOT include the proper fittings to supply fuel to the factory fuel filter bowl. We supply standard #6AN fittings for making the connection to the fuel inlet at the engine. This will mate up perfectly with our 7.3L Fuel Bowl Delete Kits (available now) as well as our 6.0L Fuel Bowl Delete Kit (in "pre-production" now, to be released by early 2Q-2015). As such, it does NOT include the proper fittings to supply fuel to the factory fuel filter bowl. We supply standard #6AN fittings for making the connection to the fuel inlet at the engine. This will mate up perfectly with our 7.3L Fuel Bowl Delete Kits (available now) as well as our 6.0L Fuel Bowl Delete Kit (in "pre-production" now, to be released by early 2Q-2015). If you are not using one of our Fuel Bowl Delete Regulated Return Kits, you may need to supply additional fittings to make the proper connection to your fuel system.
