QUESTIONS?

Q: What is the best way to reach you if I can not reach you by phone?

A: Our email is open 24/7, 7days a week, 365 days a year. Please allow 24-48 hours to respond to any phone messages or emails.

Q: How can I order my chip or programmer?

A: Our web store is open 24/7 7 days a week, 365 days a year. If you have difficulty processing your order, give us a call during our posted office hours and we will assist you with your order.

Q: How do I install my chip?

A: Our instruction booklet comes with your order. All of our instructions for installing our products are located on our products documentation page accessible from our home page.

Q: What power gains can I expect from my DP chip?

A: Each tune has a HP number for reference. Every truck will react differently to modifications.

Q: What fuel mileage gains should I expect?

A: Fuel mileage increases are based off of many different variables. Each truck is different and each driver is different with their driving styles. With good maintenance of your truck, using a fuel additive to condition the fuel and driving with a fuel saving program we have reports of 2-4 mpg increases.

Q: What do I need to do first before getting a DP-Tuner chip or tuner?

A: Basically what we like to see are Gauges to monitor EGT’s, trans temp to monitor while towing heavy loads, and boost for troubleshooting low boost pressure. There are tons to choose from.We personally recommend analog gauges. Digital gauges will only read to what the factory PCM sees. Some have external probes for the EGT’s, but not all do. We also like to see a Intake system and Exhaust system to open up the airflow. Doing these first is a smart way to get started modifying you truck

Q: What tunes are needed for a slightly modified truck as opposed to a heavily modified truck?

A: Generally a truck with Gauges,Intake and Exhaust we considered a “stock” truck. Custom tunes are not required. A heavily modified truck would be a truck with an aftermarket Trans or heavy duty shift kit, dual HPOP’s, larger injectors over a Stage I, big turbo, fuel system, lift and tires. This application will require custom tunes.

Q: Can I order my chip through the web store if my chip requires custom tuning?

A: Yes you can, however a phone call would also be necessary to ensure that the tuning is to the trucks specific modifications.

Q: Can a tuner or chip void my factory warranty?

A: This has to be the most controversial question ever. I will supply you with a link to the Federal Trade Commission’s website for the correct answer.http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/buspubs/warranty.shtm#Magnuson-Moss

Q: If I add large injectors, big oil, and bigger turbos to my application do I need special programming?

A: Absolutely! The only insurance is to schedule live tuning to dial in the tuning for those specific modifications.

Q: How do I know what tow tunes I need for towing?

A: Beside each tune there is a towing weight mated to a HP rating. We advise you get the mated tunes to correct HP based on your mods and max load capacity.

Q: What tune is best for me while driving on the highway?

A: Jody created the 60hp Economy tune to give you the best fuel gains at cruising speed while on the highway or open road.

Q: What tune is best for me while driving in town?

A: We reccomend the 80 Econo for in town driving. It has alittle more toque over the 60 econo for stop and go driving situations.

Q: I have the Ford factory passive anti-theft system, will your products work with this factory system?

A: Our chip is PATS compatible with all Ford EECV vehicles with PATS.

Q: What is different from the regular tunes and the “codes” tunes?

A: Jody has the 3 codes for Overboost, ICP pressures <>, and Exhaust back pressure set up so that the 3 pesky codes are NOT set under normal driving situations and make the check engine light come on. If you already have an ITP OB annihilator kit, Big Oil,or have gutted the EBPV then you will not need these tunes.

Q: I just installed my chip and the F5 switcher does not illuminate. What is going on?

A: It could be 2 things. 1st-Unplug the switcher. Turn it around and look at the line up of the cable notches. Verify that the cable is lined up correctly. The notch will be be down on the switch and up on the chip. 2-The chip has a default program we call POS. 0. If you the switch in POS. 0 there will be a dot the color of your led light color illuminated in the bottom right corner of the LED display. Press and hold the left button for 3 seconds and you will be back to switch on the fly mode.

Q: What’s the purpose of the DECEl tune?

A: The DECEL tune is a dedicated tune for the sole purpose of aiding in slowing you down on declines or while you are towing a heavy load. The EBV is commanded to stay closed.  Power will be taken away instantly by doing this.  This eliminates having to ride your break and damage to expensive inner parts of the automatic transmission by relieving pressure on those parts.
