I bought the DP-Tuner mostly due to the testimonial page. I corresponded with Adam Pitale for a couple of days and then made the jump based on his experience and the info on some of the diesel truck forums. I guess that goes to show you that testimonials are important and if I can help you guys out let me know.

I’ve been searching for the RIGHT diesel tuner for several months now and had finally made my mind up to go with the Banks Six-Gun. I had already added a cold-air intake and 4″ turbo back exhaust but just wanted more. I found several posts on the diesel forums website that led me to believe I should check out DP Tuner. After reading the testimonial page and corresponding with the person that left the testimonial I decided to nix the Six-Gun and go with the DP Tuner.

I can honestly say I am truly astounded at the difference the tuner made on my 2001 7.3 F250 4×4. Just to make sure I had accurate numbers to base the change on I checked my mileage the day before and was getting 15.9mpg at 65mph on flat interstate for a 20 mile distance and 14.5mpg at 70mph. On the same stretch of highway with the DP Tuner installed I was getting 23.1mpg at 65mph and 22.1 at 70mph. That’s just unbelievable! I did this with no load and just me in the truck.

And the best part, I was looking to add some power and boy did the tuner add some power. I’ve had many hotrods through the years and I know what fast is. For a truck this big this thing will move! Before, the truck would barely turn the tires over and now it will boil the tires. I still cannot believe what a huge difference this tuner made in power. It’s amazing what these engines are capable of when tuned properly.

And as mentioned by the other testimonial I spoke directly with Jody. He asked what I planned do with truck and custom programmed the tuner to meet my needs. It’s good to see that there are still some small businesses out there that are concerned about providing a quality product and great customer service. The tuner arrived within 2 days just as they said it would.

I want to take a few minutes and thank you for the product you have and the services you offer. I first heard of you through FTE and knew I wanted to give DP-Tuner a try, but having just bought a SC tuners just prior to joining FTE, I thought I was ok. Finally after hearing nothing but great things about you and your products, I made the switch a year and a half ago and never had a moments regret. I only thought that the “off the shelf tuner” was helping my truck, but until I got one set up just for me and my truck, I never knew what I was missing.
Jody was very helpful in helping me decide what I needed and wanted. The chip came with dummy proof instructions and very easy to install. I have since sent it back for updates and extra tunes, and once for some minor adjustments and have never been without my chip for more that a few days. Hopefully soon I will be able for some live tuning.
I have a basically stock truck with only intake and exhaust mods, extra gauges and a few other little tricks, but the chip is what makes it go. My mileage has improved, shift points are much better, and the towing tunes makes towing the camper fun again. Speed is not that important to me anymore, but if I want it, it’s there and plenty of it. It’s hard for anyone to imagine just what Jody can do to make an 8000 lb truck out run most sports cars until you’ve seen it.
Customer service and speed in turn around times are something Jody and Diane should be very proud of. The fact the chip does everything expected and so much more is just a bonus.

As a Powerstroke fanatic, I’ve been upgrading our personal and company vehicles since 2002. I’ve installed numerous programs, Superchips, Hypertech, and finally went with the entire Banks upgrade systems on two of our 7.3L trucks, and a 6.0L Powerstroke. After a series of check engine lights were illuminating, I consulted a few diesel performance websites for answers and tips. It was overwhelming how many people had done the same series of upgrades as I had, and were also disappointed.

The Banks system was better than the rest, but getting it to stop making problems was a major process. Even after doing everything through their tech-support, and with advice from fellow diesel owners on the forums, the truck didn’t run right. I counted fourteen people that simply suggested, “Get rid of your Banks, and go with a DP-Tuner.” That was a frustrating thing to do, as I had spent over $1K on the current program.

Fourteen people? None appeared to be on the DP payroll, so I Googled D-P Tuner, got the phone number, and called them. It’s always a pleasure when the owner answers the phone, and Jody did just that. We talked for a half hour about what I had going on, the problems, lights, etc. I ordered their chip, and it arrived immediately. After removing the 6-Gun, and all the related wires, etc., I installed the DP chip. To say the least, I’m a satisfied customer.

Basically, it was me who bugged Jody and Diane to setup a testimonial page, as I simply could not believe the difference in performance, AND economy. I’ve now got DP Tuners in all of our vehicles, and in each of my friend’s trucks. We realize 5 MPG better in the 4WD 7.3L Excursion, and the same in the F250’s. The greatest part is calling DP, getting a real human on the phone, and that person is able to help in any way, and knows everything about the chip. I was toying with idea to write a thank you note for the service I received .

First I heard about you guys on FTE, everyone there was speaking very high of you guys and NO ONE said that they didn’t like your product. I have to say the service is BAR NONE.

Never received such personal attendance and friendly service from people I never met before, that says a lot to me as a customer,

I had all my questions answered and some more, chip install was easy, and the benefit was Huge, SOTP performance was unbelievable, that was on my stock truck.

Now after long hours and lots of upgrades I had my truck Live tuned By Jody, and all I have to say is WOW, the knowledge and confidence that Jody has makes me very confident in DP-Tuner products. I can enjoy my truck more than I did before, it pulls like a train and some more and makes me smile every time I step on the go pedal.

Since I have the chip anyone that would ask me which chip to use my answer always was DP-Tuner, and it will be forever on.

After having and Edge with Attitude module and then a full Banks kit with PowerPDA on both my ‘04 6.0L Excursion and now my ‘07 6.0L F350, a friend told me to check out DP-Tuner. I went for a ride in my friend’s ‘01 7.3L F350 that Jody had made some tunes for and I couldn’t believe the power he was putting down. It was so impressive that I sold off all my Banks stuff before I ordered the SCT and tunes from Jody…that is how much I believed in the product before I even owned it.

A couple of days later, I got the SCT and Jody emailed me the tunes (econo, tow, race). I told Jody that I was going to a Dyno Day at a local shop and wanted to run my truck. He said to download the ‘Race’ program, go drive my truck (to retrain the tranny) and run it! I did not get a chance to run on the dyno that day, but I was so IMPRESSED with the difference, I called Jody and left a message while I was driving. The overall performance of the DP-Tuner beat BOTH the Edge and Banks PDA hands down!!

Everything that I thought my truck should have been doing from the factory it now does but BETTER than I ever expected. I have even made a 1600+ mile round trip from Seattle to Provo (in December 07) while hauling a trailer loaded with another truck and noticed lower EGT’s, increased MPG, and a overall refined feel from both the engine and transmission. I so confidently believe in DP Tuners that I have offered rides to complete strangers I met at the pump.

If you are shopping for a tuner, you must go the download route to get proper functioning (not just a stacked module that tricks your ECM) and get some Custom tunes from DP-Tuner. I promise, it is the ONLY way to go.
