Product Description

The Driven Diesel "Bowl Delete" Regulated Return Kit for the 99-03 Powerstroke Super Duty takes our popular "Standard" Regulated Return Kit to a new level. Just like our "Standard" version, this kit eliminates the "dead-head" stock fuel rails and provides adjustable fuel pressure capability to the Powerstroke fuel system. This is accomplished by tying the end of each fuel rail together through a Bypass Fuel Pressure Regulator. In addition, the "Bowl Delete" Regulated Return kit also eliminates the restrictive fuel filter bowl, improving fuel flow to the heads and giving back some valuable engine valley room.

NOTE: Additional Parts and Filtration Required when using this kit...see Important Notes below!

The primary benefits of this kit are significantly increased fuel flow "through" the heads, eliminating starvation of the #8 cylinder and ensuring that each fuel injector has adequate fuel quantity and pressure all the time. Additionally, any air "bubbles" that may develop in the fuel system can pass through the heads and out the regulators return port to the tank, instead of through the fuel injectors...resulting in increased injector life and less injector noise. If you are installing new injectors (stock or aftermarket), we HIGHLY RECOMMEND one of our Regulated Return kits to protect your investment and maximize your performance! The most commonly reported results from the installation of an Driven Diesel Regulated Return Kit are:

* Quieter Engine Operation

* Improved Throttle Response

* Increased Power Output

* Increased Fuel Economy

Below are some of the key features of the Driven Diesel Regulated Return Kits:

* Fits with Both Stock and Aftermarket Turbocharger Applications    * Compatible with both "Stealth" and "Terminator" Twin HPOP Setups

* High Quality FueLab Bypass Fuel Pressure Regulator (not shown in photos)   * 3/8" CNC Bent S.S. Hard Line Used in High Temperature and Tight Radius Locations

* Profesionally Assembled 3/8" S.S. Braided Teflon Hoses    * Stainless Steel Regulator Mounting Bracket

* Liquid Filled Fuel Pressure Gauge (see special note below)    * All Kits Feed Front Ports (away from Turbo Heat) and Return from Rear Ports

* Complete Kit with All Necessary Parts and Detailed COLOR Instructions    * NICEST REGULATED RETURN KIT AVAILABLE...PERIOD!

BOWL DELETE NOTES:

This kit does not supply the necessary fuel lines to reconnect the stock feed and return lines to the bowl delete and regulator outlet, some additional parts will need to be sourced depending on your specific configuration of fuel pump/lines and what factory lines (if any) you want to continue using.

VERY IMPORTANT!!!: Removal of the valley fuel filter eliminates the last line of defense that protects the fuel injectors. This kit does NOT include a replacement post-pump fuel filter. Driven Diesel STRONGLY RECOMMENDS the installation of a 2 micron rated post-pump fuel filter to protect your injectors when using the Fuel Bowl Delete Kit. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to make sure that post-pump filtration is addressed when this product is installed. Driven Diesel is NOT responsible for ANY damage incurred due to the lack of proper post-pump fuel filtration.

FASS NOTE: The FASS 090G and 200G WILL work with our fuel bowl delete since it REPLACES the factory fuel pump and supplies the necessary 2 micron post-pump filter. This version of the FASS will also supply increased fuel volume over the stock fuel pump for those in the higher horsepower category where the stock pump can no longer keep up.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING FUEL PRESSURE GAUGES: Beginning in February, 2010...ALL Driven Diesel fuel system kits will be shipped with the liquid filled gauge UNINSTALLED and an appropriate plug for the pressure gauge port included. Due to continuing issues with locating a 1.5" Liquid Filled 100psi pressure gauge that will survive in the high temperature and vibration environment of the Powerstroke engine compartment, we are making the following recommendations:

  • Because we feel it is vital to know what the fuel pressure is doing on modified Powerstroke engines while under driving conditions, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND the use of an ELECTRIC IN-CAB Fuel Pressure Gauge like those available from AutoMeter (and most other gauge manufacturers). This is the only way to monitor fuel pressure and be aware if there are any pressure/flow problems while under load...when it's the most critical.
  • If you can't afford or don't want to do an in-cab fuel pressure gauge, we are recommending that the underhood gauge only be used for the initial setting of the system fuel pressure, occasional pressure checks or for limited time installation if you are diagnosing a problem. Even though we have recently upgraded to a more expensive, all S.S. inside and out, custom built gauge, the Powerstroke environment still seems to be too harsh for reliable long-term operation.
