The Driven Diesel "OBS" Regulated Return Kit is a significant upgrade for the 94-97 Powerstroke trucks. This kit eliminates the factory mechanical fuel pump and filter bowl assemblies from the engine valley, includes larger than stock fuel lines for improved fuel flow to the injectors and provides a high quality aftermarket fuel pressure regulator to properly manage fuel system pressure. For customers doing aftermarket high pressure oil pump systems, custom turbocharger systems or other high performance modifications, this kit also opens up a bunch of room in the engine valley. The use of this kit with an appropriate electric fuel pump and proper aftermarket fuel filtration will result in quicker starting and smoother engine operation.This kit will also support significantly more power upgrades, depending on the fuel pump and plumbing setup used.

BIO-DIESEL NOTE: While we've taken steps to significantly improve the bio-diesel compatibilty of our fuel system kits, we still recommend bio concentrations of B20 or less. Higher concentrations can negatively impact the glues used to assemble most fuel filter elements.
This kit does not supply the necessary electric fuel pump, fuel fuel line (pump to bowl delete) and return line (regulator back to tank or selector valve), some additional parts will need to be sourced depending on your specific configuration of fuel pump/lines and what factory lines (if any) you want to continue using. We have made an adapter available to make it easier to make up the connection from the regulators return port to the stock return line on the frame. RETURN LINE ADAPTER - The OBS Regulated Return kit does NOT connect back up to the stock metal fuel feed/return lines coming up the front of the engine and into the middle of the engine valley. You can, however, make up a return hose to connect the regulators return port to the factory metal line behind the front shock tower. If you want to be able to use the stock metal return line on the frame, order the Return Line Adapter. It will replace the flexible hose going forward from the metal line behind the shock tower and provide a -6 AN fitting you can connect a new return hose to. VERY IMPORTANT!!!: Removal of the valley fuel filter eliminates the last line of defense that protects the fuel injectors. This kit does NOT include a replacement post-pump fuel filter. Driven Diesel STRONGLY RECOMMENDS the installation of a 2 micron rated post-pump fuel filter to protect your injectors when using the Fuel Bowl Delete Kit. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to make sure that post-pump filtration is addressed when this product is installed. Driven Diesel is NOT responsible for ANY damage incurred due to the lack of proper post-pump fuel filtration. AIRDOG NOTE: The AirDog 100gph or 150gph product sold on this website is a pre-pump device. It will NOT supply proper POST-PUMP filtration for use with the fuel bowl delete. 2 micron Post-Pump filtration is still required when using an AirDog with this kit. AIRDOG II NOTE: WE DO NOT CURRENTLY RECOMMEND THE USE OF AN AIRDOG II IN A FORD 7.3L OR 6.0L APPLICATION. We have discontinued the sale of the AirDog II for these applications because we don't feel that the performance and reliability of the AirDog II are sufficient. If you are working on a truck that will be 400hp or less and you are interested in an "Air Removal Device", we recommend using a standard AirDog 100gph or 150gph unit feeding a stock Super Duty electric fuel pump, followed by proper 2 micron post pump filtration. If you are planning to exceed the 400hp mark, please call us to discuss your needs. If you do choose to use an AirDog II or a High Pressure FASS unit to supply fuel to our Fuel Bowl Delete or Standard Regulated Return Kits...please be aware that the pump unit must be configured to put out HIGHER pressure than the 60-65psi that our fuel pressure regulator needs to be adjusted to. FASS units come standard with a 55psi spring that must be upgraded (contact your FASS dealer FASS tech support) and AirDog II units must have their adjustable pressure regulators turned up from the standard 55psi level. Failure to do this will result in lower than desired pressure at the fuel pressure regulator. 99% of all tech support calls we receive from customers feeding their regulated return kit with a High Pressure FASS or AirDog II are the result of the output pressure at the pump being too low.
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING FUEL PRESSURE GAUGES: ALL Driven Diesel fuel system kits are shipped with the liquid filled gauge UNINSTALLED and an appropriate plug for the pressure gauge port included. Due to continuing issues with locating a 1.5" Liquid Filled 100psi pressure gauge that will survive in the high temperature and vibration environment of the Powerstroke engine compartment, we are making the following recommendations: Because we feel it is vital to know what the fuel pressure is doing on modified Powerstroke engines while under driving conditions, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND the use of an ELECTRIC IN-CAB Fuel Pressure Gauge like those available from AutoMeter (and most other gauge manufacturers). This is the only way to monitor fuel pressure and be aware if there are any pressure/flow problems while under load...when it's the most critical. If you can't afford or don't want to do an in-cab fuel pressure gauge, we are recommending that the underhood gauge only be used for the initial setting of the system fuel pressure, occasional pressure checks or for limited time installation if you are diagnosing a problem. The Powerstroke environment seems to be too harsh for reliable long-term operation of these gauges, and as such we cannot offer any kind of warranty on them.
